The dancing robot might be everybody's most memorable dancing part of the night. Since I know some GFX, it actually inspired me to drop in some glitch GFX in this highlight video too.
Hearing about Abbi and James' story of overcoming the obstacles in their way was truly a delight and so encouraging. I had to put up my full version of this video instead of my usual highlights.
A week after a previous wedding, this small wedding had lots of beautiful decor put into thought. These high school sweethearts made it a day to remember!
I was shocked to see how easy the preparations look for many guests. It was a beautiful day for a backyard wedding in Escondido, and Ben and Mary's story was filled with laughter and warm memories.
I remember when I got a call from the photographer telling me don't go to the beach, because everything set up for the ceremony got torn down by the city. It's crazy when things don't go as planned, but at the end, everything still worked out, still happened, and everyone went home with a full tummy.
First time in a while that I shot a wedding solo. It was also quite a lot for me since I upgraded most of my equipment, so it was also a lot for me to think and plan what to do solo with all this new gear on me. Nevertheless, I'm very satisfied with how much I got solo with new gear. This was also the first wedding I shot for a previous Paper Source co-worker of mine too, and needless to say, I'm very proud of all the decor she put together!
They postponed their wedding for one whole year, hoping it would be more safer to gather many guest. The wedding day, turned to a wedding weekend because of postponing due to COVID. But if you think about it, every anniversary would be like a 2-day celebration, right?
Regardless of the date falling on a Monday, this couple specifically chose this date to mark 10 years since their first kiss to be their wedding day. This was the first wedding I was requested for video AND photo—quite the challenge, but I definitely had fun with it and it definitely worked out in this pandemic.
2020 was definitely a rough and strange year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just working at my part-time retail job, I can see the struggle for couples to even have a wedding that year and planning for a wedding cause everything was so up in the air. But Tyler and Tess still managed to pull off a small backyard wedding that year with closest family and friends.
Because of this wedding, I got to experience Mongolian BBQ! Which is where this couple met once upon a time …
This wedding was the first time individually I had a second shooter for, so I felt like it was a whole new take of how to balance filming a wedding and being the one to guide a second shooter. Also, got to witness a pyebaek, a traditional ceremony in Korean culture.
I was so moved about the dedication to the father of the bride, and I lovedddd how it was a mother-son-daughter dance instead; it was the cutest and sweetest thing ever!
This is the first couple that I shot the proposal and the wedding for!, andddd the second to have a handmade wooden guestbook for their wedding (which I did not include in the video, but definitely got a lot of likes for!)
It was a happy day to see my college roommate and my video partner (from Anything & Everything Productions) get married! It was a long awaited moment. This time I had a lot more equipment, while filming solo, it was actually a lot tougher to manage, but I'd do it regardless.
My first out-of-state wedding AND my first Chinese wedding! My Chinese is not that good so it was quite challenging for me. I'm glad that they have each other, singing praises together forever!
This is probably the biggest wedding I ever filmed for. As an individual wedding videographer, I learned a lot more of the kind of shots I get more often and the shots I need to work on more.
The fact that it was on May 4th, and they wanted to include Star Wars in their wedding—I was geeking out inside.
A friend of mine actually asked me to come on and help him out for a wedding, so it was nice to collaborate on a wedding video. (all drone shots by Chris Dabatos)
Owen and Ruby's wedding is probably the first big wedding I shot alone at the San Diego Safari Zoo. These two are such a sweet and fun couple.
I actually didn't do any filming for this couple (only the video editing); however, I was the photographer and from this experience I've gain a new respect for wedding photographers and if I were to EVER be the photographer again, I wouldn't do it alone.
Thanks to my experiences in Anything & Everything Productions, I definitely grew a lot in skills when I was shooting for Arthur and Hope's wedding, so I feel a lot more confident as a wedding videographer. Though it's a big improvement, I still have lots to learn! I captured so much that day, it took me a while to figure out how to convey such a happy day well in this Editor's Cut.
Hazel and Ishmael's wedding was the VERY first wedding I've ever shot in my entire life! After that, I became a shooter for Anything and Everything Productions. These are just a few of my favorite shots from that day.
